Replication Data for: Presidents, Policy Compromise and Legislative Success

These files will give you everything you need to a) replicate the estimation of presidential positions in the paper and b) perform the subsequent empirical analysis. The files contain a) the presidential speeches; b) the R code to estimate the positions from these speeches; and c) the final positions and do-file (in Stata format) for the empirical analysis. Please read the README.txt file before you begin.
