Whole exome sequencing (WES) of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)

Significant advancement has been made in the treatment of patients with pulmonary adenocarcinoma (ADCA) on the basis of the molecular profile. However, no such molecular target exists for squamous cell carcinoma (SQCC) or small cell lung cancer (SCLC). Therefore, the aim of the current study is to find novel genetic markers for NSCLC which can be used as a universal biomarker for the treatment. To achieve this objective, a total of 19 non-small-cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) cases (EGFR, ALK and ROS1 negative) were retrieved from the Department of Pathology, A.I.I.M.S., New Delhi and were sequenced on Illumina HiSeq 2000 platform (Illumina Inc., USA).
