Muscular concentration of PPCPs in Harpagifer antarcticus fish inhabiting Fildes Bay, King George Island in Antarctica.

Antarctica has year round scientific and military stations along the coast with increased human population. The wastewater effluents from the settlements may contain pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) that may disrupt aquatic life. Harpagifer antarcticus fish were collected in Fildes Bay, King George Island, Antarctica. Muscle samples were taken from some of the fish collected and extracted by QuEChERS with extra cleanup by SPE. The extracts were then analyzed by LC-MS/MS to determine the concentration of PPCPs in the fish muscle.
