This project involves two commensal strains of Bacteroides fragilis and Bacteroides ovatus which have been confirmed to attenuate lipopolysaccharides-induced inflammation in vivo. The safety assessments of these two strains were also carried out, including in vitro investigations of antibiotic resistance, screening of potential virulent genes and in vivo study of acute toxicity.
