MAR_MSEs_2003_V1.0 Micro and Small Enterprise Survey, MSEs 2003 Enterprise Survey [en/oth] This study is the Follow-up phase of Micro and Small Enterprises Survey in Morocco, it was conducted one year after the main survey in October 2003. Baseline Study of Micro and Small Enterprise Survey in Morocco, 2002 is found in (http://www.erfdataportal.com/index.php/catalog). The basic objective of the follw-up phase is to study and evaluates the evolution of the concerned economic units. To do this, a shorter questionnaire, compared to the previous questionnaire was developed and adopted by the countries involved in this survey. This is to measure and evaluate any changes in the ownership of the enterprise, its legal form, its main activity, schedules, working conditions, and the positive and negative factors affecting the enterprise. The questionnaire included in total certain modules of the main survey questionnaire such as the main customers, performance, prospects and employment in the enterprise. Case Study ======= From Micro and small Enterprises (MSEs) interviewed in the baseline survey, ten were selected (and other 10 as back-up) as study cases. this selction is based on certain criteria: gender/ age/ and education level of entrepreneur, sector activity, size of the enterprise, location, market, access to funding, level of interest of the entrepreneur for the study and desire to speak openly and thoroughly. The case studies were conducted in February 2005 in enterprises of Rabat, Salé et Témara.More information on The characteristics of enterprises with which the interviews were conducted is provided in the methodology available among external resources. Sample survey data [ssd] 1- Enterprises. 2013 Geographic Levels and areas study adopted are: Study level ======== · National · National Urban, National Rural Study area ======= · Grand Casablanca · Rabat_S_Z_Z; Gharb_C_BH, Tangier-Tetouan · Méknès_T; Fez _ B; Taza _H_T; Oriental · Doukala_Abda; Marrakech_ T_H; Souss_M_D The survey covered a national sample of Micro and Small Enterprises. The follow-up survey involved a total sample size of 1166 economic units, or about 22% of the main survey. This sample was selected in a systematic random way. Sampling draw was made after sorting the data by study area, by region, province / prefecture, by urban/rural residence and by type PU / cluster / industrial area. =============================================================================================================== A more detailed description of the allocation of sample across areas is provided in the methodology available among external resources. =============================================================================================================== Extrapolation methodologies, correction/adjustment are based on those applied in the baseline survey data, the follow-up survey is a sub-sample (22%) of main survey. Same as the data file of the baseline survey, a variable "weight" was created and integrated into the global file of follow-up survey. This variable weighting the sample data and the outcome of the results for the population being studied. Data collection in the field took place from 6 to 30 October 2003 and was conducted by a team of 20 people (16 interviewers and four supervisors) chosen from the best elements that carried out the data collection in the main survey. The staff survey has received additional training in two days (4 and 5 October 2003), specifying in particular the objectives of the follow-up survey and the types of changes made to the questionnaire of the main /baseline survey. Once the collection is completed, the survey data have been entered by computer according to the methodology adopted for the baseline survey. Licensed datasets, accessible under conditions.
