Sediment samples from midden deposits at Site CA-SBA-530 in southern California were
floated to recover macrofloral remains. Six charred botanic samples from the midden deposits
also were analyzed. Site CA-SBA-530 contains several midden deposits representing different
occupations of the site. Macrofloral analysis is used to provide information concerning plant
resources utilized by the various site occupants.
