Fauna results from sediments traps on the Stylaster and Munida seamounts south of New Caledonia (Kanadeep2 and Kanarecup cruise)

Le tri a été effectué à partir d'échantillons récoltés par des pièges à particules séquentiels. Les échantillons ont été fixés en formol 4 %, puis la fraction supérieure à 1 mm a été triée. Les échantillons destinés à l'estimation des flux de carbone et d'azote particulaire ont été extraits selon le protocole de la cellule piège du CNRS-LOV.
Les pièges ont été déployés pendant 12 mois, avec un prélèvement sur 15 jours, alternativement fixé en formol 4 % et RNAlater. Le piège installé sur le mont Stylaster a permis de récolter 12 échantillons fixés en formol et 12 en RNAlater. Sur Munida, la récolte a fonctionné 8 mois, donc 8 échantillons formol et 8 RNAlater.

Sorting was carried out using samples collected by sequential particle traps. The samples were fixed in 4% formalin, then the fraction larger than 1 mm was sorted. Samples intended for estimating particulate carbon and nitrogen fluxes were extracted according to the CNRS-LOV trap cell protocol.
The traps were deployed for 12 months, with sampling over a 15-day period, alternately fixed in 4% formalin and RNAlater. The trap installed on Mount Stylaster yielded 12 samples fixed in formalin and 12 in RNAlater. On Munida, the trap operated for 8 months, yielding 8 formalin samples and 8 RNAlater samples.
