The goal of this study was to determine the taxonomic composition of microbial communities impacted by swine agriculture, and the antibiotic resistance and mobile genetic elements encoded in these communities. There are two sub goals: i) to determine the impacts of agricultural antibiotic usage in animals and ii) to determine the fate of resistance genes when manure is composted and land applied.
