Quality-Controlled Genome-Wide SNP Dataset of Black Bengal Goats of India

This dataset comprises quality-controlled SNP genotype data for 90 Black Bengal goats, generated in PLINK PED/MAP format. The dataset contains genotype information for 18,452 SNP loci and achieved a high overall genotyping rate of 0.985684, indicating excellent data completeness and reliability. The MAP file provides chromosome and physical position information for each SNP marker, while the PED file contains individual-level genotype calls in the standard PLINK format, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of genomic analysis pipelines. Phenotypic records, pedigree information, and other metadata are not included in this release. This resource is intended for methodological development, software validation, educational purposes, and small- to medium-scale genomic analyses, including quality control, genetic diversity assessment, population structure analysis, and the development and benchmarking of genomic analysis pipelines. Users should exercise appropriate caution when extrapolating biological or population-level inferences beyond the scope of the available samples and associated metadata.
