The Impact of Bonding with Companion Animals on Quality of Life: Figure & Table

This study examines the impact of bonding with companion animals on quality of life, focusing on the mediating role of depression and the moderated mediating effect of pet attachment. Data from 396 pet owners showed that strong pet bonds enhance quality of life by reducing depressive symptoms. High pet attachment mitigates depression's negative effects, highlighting pets' protective role in mental health. The findings support pet-assisted therapy and responsible pet ownership, suggesting companion animals be included in mental health strategies to improve overall well-being.
