This study examined the impact of Clostridium beijerinckii SHZ-8 inoculation on the deterioration characteristics of whole-crop maize silage. Using 16S rDNA sequencing and untargeted metabolomics, we revealed that inoculation accelerated silage spoilage by altering microbial succession and fermentation patterns. The findings provide insights for spoilage monitoring and improved feed preservation.
