Basemaps for the territories of intendencies, larger administrative divisions of colonial Spanish America in the late Bourbon period. Most intendencies were created between 1784 and 1787. The shapes also include provinces only subordinated to the intendencies for fiscal matters, as well as fiscal-only intendencies that were parallel to political administration.
