Struvite and Organomineral Fertilizers Boost Phosphorus-Solubilizing Bacteria and Enhance Maize Biomass in Tropical Soils

This study explores the impact of different phosphorus fertilizers on maize growth, soil health, and rhizosphere bacterial communities in humid tropical conditions. Organomineral (OM) and struvite (Est) fertilizers outperformed triple superphosphate (TSP), enhancing soil phosphorus levels, enriching microbial communities, and increasing maize biomass. OM improved diverse phosphorus fractions, fostering microbial diversity, while Est increased beta-glucosidase activity. Est also led to higher proliferation of beneficial phosphorus-solubilizing bacteria.
