资源简介:
The beneficial effect of physical training on the immune system (IS) has been proven in both healthy and unhealthy populations. The acute risks of an exercise session are known to outweigh the benefits of practicing it. Recommendations regarding exercise during infection are not supported by evidence, even though there is proof that an acute exercise session increases antibody production and that the immune status of athletes after strenuous exercise positively aids in regulating IS function. It is known that several physiological factors may be involved with the IS, ranging from changes in cytokine secretion by immune cells to changes in the secretion of hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol, metabolic changes, among others. Thus, understanding the relationship between the IS and the intensity of stress caused by physical exercise and training phases is relevant, as many athletes choose not to train during infections, and performance losses after a few days of detraining or bed rest are widely reported in the literature. This study aims to detect symptoms of infection and psychophysiological aspects through the use of a mobile application during different periods of physical training, in order to: (1) observe how participants deal with susceptibility and episodes of infection, as well as whether or not they continue to exercise during these occurrences, (2) investigate possible factors related to susceptibility to episodes of infection with fluctuations in training loads, or the addition of other stressors in these occurrences, (3) using the psychophysiological data obtained from the responses to the questionnaires in the app, develop a machine learning model to predict the risk of infections and compare them with the follow-up biomarkers.
