Enhancement of hyporheic flow and solute transport by bioturbation
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains experimental data from a series of flume experiments designed to investigate hyporheic exchange beneath a U-shaped burrow structure in a controlled channel system. The dataset includes: Overlying Water Concentrations – Time series measurements of solute concentrations in the surface water above the sediment bed, recorded to capture the dynamics of exchange between surface and subsurface domains. Solute Transport within Sediments – Photographic tracer records documenting the spatiotemporal evolution of solute plumes within the sediment matrix. These images visualize preferential flow paths, infiltration depth, and the distribution of hyporheic exchange zones. The dataset is intended to support analyses of bioturbation-induced flow and transport processes in streambeds, with particular focus on quantifying solute retention, transport heterogeneity, and the role of benthic structures in shaping hyporheic dynamics.
