Canadian Gallup Poll, September 1983, #477_4

This Gallup poll seeks the opinions of Canadians, on predominantly social issues. The questions ask opinions about important issues such as unemployment, the influence of religion and the quality of North American cars. There are also questions dealing with political affairs, including policies and funding cuts. The respondents were also asked questions so that they could be grouped according to geographical variables. Topics of interest include: approving amnesty for illegal immigrants; approving the probability method of pension plan; attending church; being affected by unemployment; the best policy regarding nuclear generation; buying North American cars vs. foreign cars; the effects of B.C.'s funding cuts; favourite hobbies; the influence of religion on everyday life; making illegal data access a crime; predictions of the economy in the future; the quality of North American cars; the seriousness of computer break-ins; and using computer systems or data processing. Basic demographic variables are also included.
