Microbial composition at genus level along the Old Course of Yellow River (Shangqiu section)

The Old Course of Yellow River (Shangqiu section) located in the eastern part of Henan Province covers a total area of 1520 square kilometers, starting from Minquan County in the west to Yucheng County in the east. Site A (Fanzhuang Village) belongs to Minquan County and. Site C (Linqi Reservoir) and Site D (Forest Park) are planned to be constructed as tourism development areas. Site F (Liuyang Village) is located in the northeast part of Yucheng County. For each sampling site, 1 water sample, 1 sediment sample and 9 soil samples were collected in triplicate. Within each soil site, 3 sampling points were taken at distributed straight-line distances of 10 m (s10), 50 m (s50) and 100 m (s100) from the riverbank. Around each point, 3 random soil sub-samples were collected using a plastic spoon from the corresponding depths (cm) of 0–20 (top), 20–40 (middle), and 40–60 (bottom). (w-Water samples, s-Sediment samples, s10-Soil samples 10 m far from the riverbank, s50-Soil samples 50 m far from the riverbank, s100-Soil samples 100 m far from the riverbank.)
