Water and sediment eDNA metabarcoding for monitoring aquatic biodiversity in the Dongjicuona Lake

Using eDNA metabarcoding with five primer sets (targeting ribosomal DNA and mitochondrial sequences) in five sites of the Dongjicuona Lake, we systematically compared biodiversity detection between sediment and water samples across the tree of life, encompassing archaea, bacteria, algae, fungi, plants, protozoa, invertebrates, fishes, birds, and mammals.
