This dataset contains bimonthly Multivariate El Niño/Southern Oscillation (ENSO) index (MEI) data related to global climate change, covering the period from 1900 to 2016. The MEI index is an Empirical Orthogonal Function (EOF) combination of time series from five distinct variables: sea level pressure (SLP), sea surface temperature (SST), zonal and meridional components of surface wind speed, and outgoing longwave radiation (OLR). All bimonthly data from 1900 to 2016 are included in this dataset, with data sourced from relevant data websites of NOAA.
