Detoxification effect of sodium thiosulfate (Na2S2O3) on cadmium (Cd) poisoning and regulation mechanism on its intestinal flora

Cadmium (Cd), as one of the heavy metals causing environmental toxicity, has caused many biological adverse reactions. The residual cadmium in water can be transmitted to the human body through the food chain through aquatic life, thus causing certain harm to human health. Sodium thiosulfate is a commonly used heavy metal detoxification drug in clinic, but it is not sufficient at the research level of cadmium. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the mitigation effect of sodium thiosulfate (0.75 mg/L) on cadmium (0.15 mg/L) and the intestinal flora in the presence of cadmium exposure in water.
