We present two datasets detailing dendrometric traits of tree and shrub species from carbon sequestration projects in Xining, Haidong, and Tianshui—cities located in northwestern China relative to the Hu Huanyong Line (also referred to as the Heihe–Tengchong Line). Specifically, the tree dataset includes measurements of canopy breadth in two perpendicular directions, height, diameter at breast height, and base perimeter. The shrub dataset comprises crown diameters in two perpendicular directions, height, and basal perimeter.These dendrometric traits correspond to the parameters used in allometric biomass equations developed by Luo et al. (2020) and Wang et al. (2021). Furthermore, the diameter and height of trees and shrubs significantly influence understory plant diversity, largely due to stand density effects on species interactions and community composition. Thus, these datasets provide valuable resources for improving biomass estimation models and evaluating plant diversity outcomes under conservation management.
