This study investigates the fungal communities present in corn samples collected from regions of China with Keshan disease, Kashin-Beck disease, regions where both diseases coexist, and non-affected areas. High-throughput sequencing of the fungal ITS region was performed to profile community composition and diversity. The data provide insights into the distribution and variation of fungal populations across different geographical and disease-affected regions, supporting further research on plant-microbe interactions and potential mycotoxin exposure.
