Predictors of women's mid-life health behaviour in menopausal awareness utilising Bayesian analytical approach: Regions in Assam indicating rural-urban information divide
收藏资源简介:
We intended to understand what predicts awareness and symptom burden among mid-life women in north and lower Assam divisions in India. Impact of media in health behaviour and awareness of menopause is also examined. 237 primary data of women in menopausal age were analysed using three complementary Bayesian approaches to examine predictors of awareness and symptom burden. McNemar Exact Test was used to find relationship between intention and actual action in discussing with healthcare providers. We derived that intentions did not translate into actual healthcare-seeking. Media’s positive impact in changing the health behavior was limited to urban women. Significant difference in awareness is observed between urban-rural areas. Findings necessitate policy interventions in improving health information network targeting rural, low-income populations as was done through ASHA for maternity and neonatal care.
