The Atlas of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Brazil

The research initiative required the manual checking of more than 40,000 pieces of information from individual companies by a group composed of 7 researchers from Brazilian and foreign institutions, 11 master's and Ph.D. students, and 4 undergraduate students, and resulted in several publications in international journals. It comprises an index of FDI for all Brazilian municipalities from 2010 to 2016. Accordingly, Professor Herick created the first ATLAS of FDI in Brazil. Given its scarcity in emerging economies, it created a new research agenda for them and contributed to the field of International Business and related areas.
