FESOM2.7 model data used in the paper 'Changing Arctic glaciers amplify iceberg traffic and reshape benthic biodiversity'

This data set includes the data necessary to reproduce the figures related to the iceberg experiments presented in Krumpen et al. (Changing Arctic glaciers amplify iceberg traffic and reshape benthic biodiversity). The output of model simulations with the global ocean/sea ice/iceberg model FESOM2.7 is provided. In particular, the data set includes: Iceberg trajectories containing positions of the icebergs (longitude, latitude), year and day, velocity and index for iceberg frozen in sea ice (FESOM2.7_iceberg_trajectories.mat) Annual mean freshwater flux released by icebergs on the model grid for the years 1986-2023. The file contains the four components of freshwater flux: basal melt, lateral melt, wave erosion and buoyant convection (FESOM2.7_iceberg_fw_annual_means.nc). The file includes information on the model grid (longitude and latitude of nodes, elements, nodal areas) needed for plotting the data.
