Targeted Microbiota Analysis of Goat Milk - Advanced Testing for Genetic Composition

This dataset contains raw microbiota profiling data from goat milk samples collected at multiple pilot sites as part of the EU-funded Code: Re-farm project. Samples were obtained from farms representing both intensive and extensive livestock systems across Italy, Switzerland, and Greece. DNA was extracted and analysed with REM Analytics’ Advanced Testing for Genetic Composition (ATGC) assay. The dataset includes profiles from targeted primers covering key genera such as Bifidobacterium, Lactobacillus, Candida, Staphylococcus, and Mammaliicoccus. The data were generated to explore the relationship between milk microbiota, farming practices, and milk quality parameters. This file includes sample metadata (farm, sampling period) and raw data for each primer. The sample_id represents the goat ID, the sampling occasion (1-8) and the sample group (2 or 3).
