Why flying insects gather at artificial light

Stereo high speed video files for insects flying towards light. The metadata associated with the video files is available as supplementary dataset 1. Digitised trajectories from both laboratory motion capture, and field stereovideography are available within the 'Supporting Data.zip' file. We have provided example MATLAB scripts to handle these files and extract key parameters. Our flight model, used to simulate dorsal tilting, is also provided as a MATLAB script ('Example_Flight_Model.m'). If you do not have access to MATLAB, we suggest using the open source GNU Octave to access these scripts.
