Genome and transcriptome sequencing of the thermophilic fungus Rhizomucor pusillus. Rhizomucor pusillus

The thermophilic zygomcete Rhizomucor pusillus is a member of the Mucorales isolated from compost soil in Vietnam. Fast growth and rapid spore production mark R. pusillus as a pioneer species among mycoflora in compost. The high temperature optima of R. pusillus enzymes of around 60°C makes the fungus an interesting source of industrial biocatalysts. Sequencing of the R. pusillus genome will provide the necessary information to study this fungus and its enzymatic system in more detail.
