Transcriptome and small RNA sequencing of two kinds of heteromorphic leaves of Populus Euphratica

Populus Euphratica, an ecologically important tree growing in semiarid areas, exhibits a typical heterophylly. Significant difference were observed in photosynthesis and eco-adaptability of the heteromorphic leaves of Populus Euphratica, but the underlying molecular mechanism was not clear. Here, using combined transcriptome and small RNA sequencing, we investigated the differential expression of mRNA and miRNA between the heteromorphic leaves of Populus Euphratica.
