README This archive contains the attached files to the paper "Synthesizing Algorithm Extensions for Grid Perpetual Exploration with an Obstacle". It contains two kinds of files : .web-algo files are used to simulate algorithms on the online simulator proposed by Quentin Bramas: https://bramas.pages.unistra.fr/robot-grid-exploration-simulator/IMgO4F3mSbr2bvlRMOkVLOf35EufT0/ .html files are used to visualize parts of the generation 1. Dataset Contents a0_wall_obs.web-algo: Simulation of the base algorithm A0 with a wall-obstacle. In this initial configuration, perpetual exploration fails (see Section 2, p.7) good_goals_1/ : Contains all the attached files regarding the 5 algorithms generated (see Section 4, p.10) good_goals_1/goals_simulation.html: Displays goals that produced the 5 algorithms good_goals_1/goal_result/ Contains execution_simulation_of_goal_X.html (X = 1 to 12). Visualizations illustrating the possible executions associated with each goal. good_goals_1/synthesized_algorithms/: Contains 5 .web-algo simulation files, one for each algorithm. good_goals_2/ : Contains all the attached files regarding the 17 algorithms generated with a change in the parameters of the goals (see Section 4.5, p.15) good_goals_2/goals_simulation.html: Displays goals that produced the 5 algorithms. Notice the difference on the number of rounds of Goal 12. good_goals_2/goal_result/ Contains execution_simulation_of_goal_X.html (X = 1 to 12). Visualizations illustrating the possible executions associated with each goal. good_goals_2/synthesized_algorithms/: Contains 17 .web-algo simulation files, one for each algorithm. bad_goals/: Contains all the attached files regarding the algorithms generated with a "bad" set of goals (see Section 5, p.15) bad_goals/goals_simulation.html: Displays goals that produced 5 algorithms that fail at the simulation phase. Notice the difference on the color of the leader robot in Goal 12. bad_goals/goal_result/: Contains execution_simulation_of_goal_X.html (X = 1 to 12). How to Run an Algorithm on the Online Simulator To run a .web-algo file: Open the simulator here: https://bramas.pages.unistra.fr/robot-grid-exploration-simulator/IMgO4F3mSbr2bvlRMOkVLOf35EufT0/ Click “Files” in the top-right tab menu Click “Choose file" to load the chosen .web-algo file Press the left or right arrow keys to step through the simulation Rules used by the algorithm are visible in the top-right tab menu 3. Viewing Goal Visualizations The goals_simulation.html files propose a visualization of the defined goals and the generated possibilities to fulfill each goal. Open goals_simulation.html in a browser It displays the list of goals used for algorithm synthesis Each goal links to an execution visualization:execution_simulation_of_goal_X.html (X = 1 to 12)
