WOMEN, TENURE, AND PERFORMANCE: EXPLORING LEADERSHIP DYNAMICS IN BRAZILIAN CREDIT COOPERATIVES

This study examines the relationship between gender diversity in the board of directors (BOD) and executive team (ET) and the financial performance of Brazilian credit cooperatives. In addition, the moderating effect of tenure (in both BOD and ET) on the relationship between gender diversity and financial performance is tested. The study evaluates whether gender diversity in top leadership is associated with improvements in financial performance, as measured by return on assets (ROA) and return on equity (ROE).
