GreenCalculus — UK DEFRA Well-to-Tank (WTT) Upstream Fuel Emission Factors 2026

All 164 UK DEFRA 2026 well-to-tank factors — the upstream emissions of extracting,refining and delivering a fuel before it is burnt — covering 31 fossil fuels,19 bioenergy fuels and UK grid electricity generation. Well-to-tank sits in GHG Protocol Scope 3 Category 3 (fuel- and energy-relatedactivities), separate from the combustion emissions that form Scope 1. Factors aregiven per kWh on both gross and net calorific value bases, and per litre, tonne,GJ, kg and cubic metre as DEFRA publishes them. Every factor carries its cellreference in the published DEFRA workbook. Values are reported as aggregate CO2e on the IPCC AR5 100-year basis, as published —DEFRA does not publish a per-gas decomposition for upstream emissions.
