TEAMx: sEOP - ACTA - Bozen - Schwarzseespitze - Klobenstein - Microwave radiometer (MWR) profiling and scanning data - T - humidity - IWV - LWP

About the data: The repository contains Microwave radiometer data collected at the three sites, Bozen, Klobenstein, and Schwarzseespitze, in the ACTA region during the summer EOP of the TEAMx campaign (More info at https://www.teamx-programme.org/observations/). The data have been processed using the MRWPy algorithm, provided by Marke et al. (2024). MWRpy: A Python package for processing microwave radiometer data. The retrieval is based on a machine learning algorithm trained on modeling profiling data from ICON D2 simulations at 2 km resolution, provided by Annika Oertel. A detailed description of the retrieval. A description of the machine-learning retrieval applied to zenith and scanning data is provided in an ESSD paper in preparation. For each site, two types of files are produced: Filenames containing the string "single" correspond to profiling data from zenith pointing observations Filenames containing the string "multi" correspond to azimuth scan data at fixed elevations of 10 °, 20 °, and 30 °. Beyond NetCDF files, the repository also includes quicklook PNG files for quick data checks. Spatial location: The MWRs are located in: Schwarzseespitze/Lagonero (2060 m, 46° 35′ 46″ N, 11° 27′ 11″ E), Klobenstein/Collalbo (1193m, 46° 32' 7.55" N, 11° 27' 32.33" E), Bozen/Bolzano (241 m, 46.4907° N, 11.3398° E). The file map_3_sites.png shows the position of the three microwave radiometers on the map. Temporal coverage and resolution: The observations are collected for the following periods: Schwarzseespitze/Lagonero: from 2025-05-17 to 2025-09-09 Klobenstein/Collalbo: from 2025-05-17 to 2025-09-09 Bozen/Bolzano: from 24-05-25 to 30-07-25 Data use policy. These data are made available in accordance with the TEAMx Data Management Plan and may be used provided that the dataset and its data providers are appropriately cited and acknowledged. Users are requested to contact the data providers ([e-mail]) when planning research based on the dataset and must inform them before disseminating results through journal articles, conference presentations, or research proposals. This communication should allow the data providers to indicate whether they wish to contribute to the proposed work. Where the dataset constitutes a substantial component of the study, the data providers should be offered the opportunity to collaborate and, where their contribution meets the applicable authorship criteria, to participate as co-authors.
