Supporting data for "Perspectives, Practices, and Psychosocial Determinants of Human milk donation A multimethod exploration across cultural and contextual settings in China"

This dataset is for the study titled "Supporting data for Perspectives, Practices, and Psychosocial Determinants of Human Milk Donation: A Multimethod Exploration Across Cultural and Contextual Settings in China." The study has three main objectives. The first objective is to explore the factors influencing the willingness of breastfeeding women to donate human milk. To achieve this, we designed a survey targeting women who had breastfed in the past three years in Mainland China and Hong Kong. A total of 478 valid cases were collected in Hong Kong and 685 valid cases in Mainland China. The dataset contains two Excel files, named “quantitative data in Hong Kong_Li Junyan_20260204_v1” and “quantitative data in Mainland China_Li Junyan_20260204_v1”, which include this data.The second objective of the study is to explore the experiences of women in Hong Kong who are involved in peer-to-peer human milk sharing. We conducted interviews with 50 participants. The dataset contains a folder with the transcriptions of these interviews, named “Dataset for Chapter 5+6-qualitative data in HK”.The third objective is to explore the experiences of women in Mainland China who donate milk to milk banks. We interviewed 18 participants. The dataset contains a folder with the transcriptions of these interviews, named "Dataset for Chapter 5+7-qualitative data in MC."<br>
