Xizhou community is located at the left bank of Xindian River. Most of the residents were Amis. In 1979, Zhang Xiong, the elder of Xizhou community, went to work in Taipei. He found that the place was similar to the original tribal environment, so he planted vegetables at this place. In 1981, the Amis people began to move in and built their own homes.
