NGC 1194: X-RAY REPROCESSING IN A LOCAL COMPTON THICK MASER AGN

NGC 1194 is one of the hardest AGN in the local sky and a rare example ofa nearby Comptonthick Seyfert galaxy. This AGN houses a water maser,providing an intriguing possible origin for the Comptonthick gas. Werequest a joint 60 ks NuSTAR/XMM observation to build a model for thisspectacular AGN. Availability of an accurate black hole mass and maserdisk inclination give a solid framework of scalesize, Eddington ratio andorientation for interpretation of the Xray data.
