Mudie's Select Library Catalogues, 1848-1907

This dataset is comprised of the complete fiction listings from eight catalogues of Mudie's Select Library, a major nineteenth-century British commercial lending library. The catalogues were published between 1848 and 1907, and list over twenty thousand unique novel titles. The data provided here includes book titles, authors, information on volume and bindings types, and in some cases, novel genre. The research platform Mudie's Library Online (https://curatr.ucd.ie/mudies/) is based on the most recent version of this dataset, and can also be used to consult the catalogue information.
