XMM observation of NGC 188

GT The open cluster NGC 188 is one of the oldest cluster in the Galaxy. Itsrichness and location relatively far from the galactic plane is such that mostof its stellar sources will be in the EPIC field of view with few field starsand low interstellar absorption. Compared to most open clusters, NGC 188 ispotentially as old as the disk which makes NGC 188 of substantial interest interm of stellar evolution. The present study will characterize the Xray stellaremission of NGC 188 stellar populations in particular by measuring the Xrayspectra on W Ursae Major binaries and FK Comae objects and by establishing theHR location of Xray coronal emission among G and K giants. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
