Microbial communities during the GOMOO and GOMCOAST mesocosm experiments are described. 18S rRNA genes are sequenced from samples filtered every 12 hours on 10 um filters for the duration of the experiment. Eukaryotic communities are later combined with corresponding samples of prokaryotes to determine how microbial communities respond to the water accomodated fraction (waf) of oil, and chemically dispersed waf using the dispersant corexit.
