资源简介:
This is a dataset for the associated published research paper "Age-specific Reference Intervals for Serum GFAP and UCH-L1 in Children and Adolescents" in NIHR Open research.
This dataset contains de-identified research data collected to establish age-specific reference intervals for the serum biomarkers glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and ubiquitin C-terminal hydrolase L1 (UCH-L1) in healthy paediatric populations. The data were generated from a cohort of children aged 2–16 years recruited across five UK sites (Belfast, Glasgow, London, Manchester, and Cardiff) between April and July 2020 as part of the RAPID-19 study.
The dataset includes participant demographic variables (age, sex) and laboratory biomarker measurements (GFAP and UCH-L1 concentrations) used for reference interval determination, and derived statistical outputs including percentile reference limits and associated confidence intervals. Data are provided in structured tabular formats (e.g. CSV) to facilitate reuse and reproducibility.
The data support research into paediatric traumatic brain injury biomarkers and may be reused by clinical researchers, laboratory scientists, and methodologists interested in biomarker validation, paediatric reference interval development, and diagnostic test evaluation. Appropriate reuse may include secondary statistical analysis, validation studies, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses.
All data are fully anonymised and contain no directly identifiable personal information. The dataset should be interpreted within the context of its inclusion criteria (healthy children without recent illness) and is intended to support reference interval research rather than define clinical diagnostic thresholds. This dataset is shared to support the FAIR data principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) and to promote transparency and reproducibility in paediatric biomarker research.
