Data collected for scientific article Improvement on ecosystem services, soil health, and farm profit: Approach for decision-making support and exploratory insights

This dataset is anonymized. The dataset is divided into two folders. The first folder (“Farm level data”) includes quantitative and qualitative data collected at the farm level in the six participating farms of this article, located in Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, and Denmark. Those data were collected between March 2024 and January 2026 through a co-design approach with the farm managers of the six farms. The data was collected through an iterative discussion using questionnaires and semi-structured interviews (see paper for details). For each considered farm, the data includes: Information on the baseline farm management, including specific information on the cropping plan and practices used on the farm. Detailed information on the management changes that the farmer would like to potentially implement on the farm. Quantitative data on the farm costs and revenues necessary to assess the effect of the management changes on farm profit. A detailed partial budget calculation. Data on the soil and environment of the farm, including baseline soil tests. The second folder (“Expert panel assessment data”) includes the assessments done by 9 experts on the management changes proposed by the farmers. Each expert qualitatively assessed the effect of the proposed management changes on 10 ecosystem services and 10 soil capacities to support ecosystem services.
