GSM8K (Grade School Math 8K) is a dataset consisting of 8,500 high-quality, linguistically diverse grade school math word problems. It is designed to support the task of question answering on basic mathematical problems that require multi-step reasoning. Each problem instance includes a question string and a corresponding answer string with multiple reasoning steps and calculator annotations. The dataset comes in two configurations: main and socratic, with the latter also including Socratic sub-questions.
