An integrated multi-trophic aquaculture system was conducted to improve bacterial community composition. And with the addition of microalgae, the abundances of Vicinamibacteria, Blastocatellia, and KD4-96 increased, and the abundance of pathogenic bacteria Chlamydiae was reduced. Furthermore, Bacteroidia lives in symbiosis with Oscillatoria sp. and predominated in bacterial communities in microalgae tank. Overall, the IMTA system can improve the microbial community to purify water quality, reduce the abundance of pathogenic bacteria, and utilize aquaculture waste to increase the bioavailability of nitrogen and phosphorus.
