Chongce ice core charcoal record

This dataset contains the Chongce ice core charcoal record from the western Tibetan Plateau. It provides a record of past fire activity for the period 1935–2012 AD.The Excel file includes four sheets:Ice core chronology: Age (AD), mid-depth (m w.e.), and ice accumulation rate (m w.e. yr-1).Charcoal raw data: Sample number, depth (m w.e.), volume (L), Lycopodium spore counts, sample age (AD), temporal resolution, and raw charcoal counts and concentrations (grains L⁻¹) for three size classes (10–50, 50–100, >100 µm), as well as total charcoal.Annual charcoal flux (1997-2012): Age (AD), charcoal concentrations (×100 grains L⁻¹), ice accumulation rate (m w.e. yr⁻¹), and charcoal fluxes (×10⁵ grains m⁻² yr⁻¹) for each size class and total.3-year charcoal flux (1935-2012): 3‑year averaged age (AD), mid-age (AD), 3‑year concentrations (×100 grains L⁻¹), 3‑year ice accumulation rate (m w.e. yr⁻¹), and 3‑year fluxes (×10⁵ grains m⁻² yr⁻¹) for each size class and total.
