Palaeomagnetic and astrochronologic dataset for the Staithes S-20 core, and the joint Tilmanni plus Planorbis chronozone astrochronology

Relates to the paper “<b>Omission and pacing of events at the Norian-Rhaetian and Triassic-Jurassic transitions in Britain</b>” by Mark W Hounslow, Paulette E. Posen, Geoffrey Warrington, Kevin N. Page.This is the dataset for the above work, and consists of the following mostly excel <b>data files:</b>· “SI-info-all-ST-magnetic-data.xlsx”: The magnetostratigraphic and palaeomagnetic data for the S20 sample set· “SI-cyclostrat-data-v4.xlsx”: The astrochronologic spreadsheet containing the analysis steps and SAR modelsThe above two xls files contain additional description of each sheet in the files, on the first sheet.The below R-scripts perform the following, TimeOpt focused applications (astrochron package)· “Hettangian-SAR-runs.R” : Performs the analysis for variable hiatus applied to the baseline SAR models· “Hettangian-Modulated+hiatus-runs.R” : performs the beta-testing, with optional range of hiatus values in kyr· “Hett-Mod+hiatus+TemplateSim.R” : performs the equivalent of TimeOptTemplateSim at one beta and hiatus value , i.e. it borrows the key simulation loop inside TimeOptTemplateSim and applies it to one SAR modelSupplementary material from the online publication in Geological Magazine
