Adult Opisthorchis viverrini (OV) resides in the biliary system, which might enhance bacterial growth and participates to induce inflammation of bile ducts or cholangitis, leading to hepatobiliary disease (HBD) including cholangiocarcinoma. To identify bacterialcommunity in chronic O. viverrini infection, bacterial genomic DNA from hamsters liver (at 8, 12 and 15 months post-infection) and worms were investigated by many approaches including cultivation bacteria, PCR for Helicobacter spp. and a high-throughput next-generation sequencing based on the nucleotide sequences of the V3-V4 hypervariable regions of prokaryotic 16S rDNA.For metagenomic analysis
