This work aims to investigate soil-atmosphere interactions through experimental investigations conducted in an instrumented channel, focusing on the effects of incident radiation on water content, suction, and temperature profiles in a monolithic cover layer. In addition, the research examines the formation and propagation of cracks in the layer during multiple wetting and drying cycles under controlled environmental conditions.
