Fifty hyperspectral reflectance images of outdoor scenes

The 50 zipped files contain hyperspectral reflectance images of outdoors scenes in Matlab MAT format, each of size ca. 336 x 256 x 33. The file Scenes_and_Names_Key.pdf contains a key for relating image number to scene name.<br><br>Each hyperspectral reflectance image was obtained by spectrally scaling an original radiance image 1024 × 1344 x 33 by the reflectance of one or more reference surfaces embedded in the scene. The reflectance image was downsampled from 1024 × 1344 pixels to 336 x 256 pixels by spatial averaging over 4×4 pixels and then smoothed spectrally by averaging over adjacent wavelength values 400, 410, …, 720 nm. Padding artefacts may be present at some image edges.<br><br>The montage of colour images in Scenes_and_Names_Key.pdf is for illustration only. Each image was obtained as the product of the reflectance image with a daylight illuminant of correlated colour temperature 6500 K and then rendered as sRGB.<br><br>The hyperspectral images were acquired by Sérgio Nascimento, Kinjiro Amano, and David Foster from the Minho region of Portugal in 2002 and 2003.
