Female rats were exposed to vehicle (3% DMSO in sesame oil) or the polychlorinated biphenyl mixture Aroclor 1221 (1 mg/kg) from embryonic days 8 - 18 and postnatal days 1 - 21. RNA was collected from hypothalamic samples at postnatal (P) days 8, 30, and 60. At P8, the whole hypothalamus was collected. At P30 and P60, the arcuate and anteroventral paraventricular nuclei were collected. RNA was analyzed using 3' targeted RNA sequencing to characterize developmental changes in bulk gene expression in the hypothalamic nuclei after exposure to the endocrine-disrupting chemical A1221.
