This dataset aggregates and anonymizes web search query volumes related to influenza-like symptoms collected by Google across U.S. states, to forecast influenza incidence 1 to 4 weeks in advance. Influenza incidence is represented by the weighted influenza-like illness (wILI) values published weekly by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Aggregated search counts for over 400 symptoms have been publicly released on a weekly basis since 2017. This dataset covers both state and county administrative levels, with data aggregated across 8 U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) regions. The core task of this dataset is influenza forecasting.
